Avis Budget Group reported a third-quarter net profit of $69 million, excluding one-time items, compared with $57 million a year earlier.

Domestic car rental revenue declined 16 percent year over year, as a 23 percent drop in rental days offset a 9 percent increase in overall pricing. CEO Ron Nelson said commercial pricing during the quarter increased "about 5 percent, with most of the strength in the under $1 million accounts."
