Avis Budget Group and Hertz Global Holdings plan to purchase thousands of fuel-efficient Toyota Prius vehicles

The Associated Pressreported that Hertz would offer the vehicles in its top 50 U.S. airport locations while Avis Budget would make them available first in California, Portland, Ore., Seattle and Washington, D.C. Enterprise Rent-A-Car, which claims to operate "more fuel-efficient cars on the road than any other rental car company in the world," last week said it would begin printing all rental contracts on recycled paper.
