Amtrak will change Amtrak Guest Rewards’ redemption structure and boost travelers’ points-earning potential,

it announced Wednesday. Set for launch in January, the program will offer bonus points on Acela and business class travel, and points no longer will expire so long as accounts have been active within three years. The program also will base redemption on ticket price rather than zone and route, remove blackout dates and offer an option to redeem for a combination of payment and points.
