Alaska Airlines in February was the most punctual major U.S. carrier
as it landed nearly 83 percent of flights on time, according to FlightStats. United Airlines followed by few hundredths of a percentage point. US Airways (82 percent) placed third, followed by Delta Air Lines (81 percent) and Continental Airlines (76 percent). With a 62 percent on-time arrival rate in February, Southwest Airlines ranked last among the nine largest U.S. carriers, though FlightStats acknowledged the airline "disputes the accuracy of this data," derived from Federal Aviation Administration arrival figures.
