Alaska Air Group reported a loss of $15.8 million in the first quarter
, excluding extraordinary items, compared with net income of $2.8 million in the first quarter of 2006. The airline blamed "higher fuel costs, increased competition and a softer revenue environment." Total operating revenues grew 3.3 percent to $759.4 million.
