AirTran Airways and Southwest Airlines were the only two major U.S. carriers to report higher April domestic traffic volumes
versus a year earlier, with 0.3 percent and 4.1 percent increases, respectively. United Airlines had the steepest decline, down 11.5 percent. Meanwhile, all major U.S. carriers with the exception of Delta Air Lines posted higher April load factors.
