Impacted by a one-time €368 million "restructuring provision" primarily related to voluntary staff reductions stemming from
the company's transformation plan, the net loss swelled to €895 million from €197 million. Air France-KLM's scheduled passenger business saw revenue increase nearly 7 percent to €4.9 billion and its operating loss shrink to €47 million from €140 million a year earlier. "Bookings for the summer season are positively oriented, in line with the recent trend," according to the company. "However the uncertain outlook for the global economic environment together with the volatility of fuel prices and the euro make forecasts for the latter part of the year difficult."
