ANA and Japan Airlines asked the Japanese government to approve international fare hikes of as much as 7 percent
, effective 1 April. JAL also plans to raise domestic Japanese fares by as much as 6 percent from 1 April to "cope with the financial impact of sustained high fuel prices."
