AMR Corp. chairman and CEO Gerard Arpey yesterday told the company board of his decision to retire.
He immediately was replaced by Thomas
Horton, who also will continue to serve as president. Horton now will guide AMR
through a bankruptcy restructuring following its voluntary Chapter 11 petition
this morning.
