U.S. travel agency air transactions processed through ARC in October decreased 1.6 percent year over year,
the ninth consecutive month of declining volume. Total agency sales, however, grew 4.5 percent from a year earlier to just over $71.1 billion. The disparity specifically for domestic U.S. air tickets was more pronounced, with transactions dropping back more than 3 percent and total sales rising by 4.6 percent. For international tickets, the trend was reversed: transaction volume increased 2.5 percent while total sales fell 1.2 percent.
