American Express Global Business Travel created a new
regional structure and named three longtime execs to run the regions. Tom Bligh
became senior vice president and general manager of the Americas; Katrina
Cliffe was named vice president and general manager for Europe, the Middle East
and Africa; and David Reimer assumed the role of vice president and general
manager of Japan, Asia and Pacific.
At six years, Cliffe's tenure with Amex is the shortest
among the trio. Bligh joined the company more than 18 years ago, as did Reimer in
1998.
According to a prepared statement attributed to American
Express Global Business Travel president Kim Goodman, who in January replaced
Charles Petruccelli, "This new regional structure will enhance the global
functions already in place by bringing a more streamlined and integrated
market-focused approach to our business in different parts of the world."
In addition to Bligh, the three other members of
Petruccelli's leadership team remain with the company: Hervé Sedky continues to
oversee global customers and the advisory and meetings and events practices,
Julie Bottner remains executive vice president and general manager of global service
delivery and Michael Qualantone serves as senior vice president and general
manager of global supplier relations and the travel partner network.
