Travel agency
employees using the solution can generate virtual card numbers through the
AirPlus AIDA payment process to pay suppliers including rail operators, hotels and
airlines not in Billing Settlement Plans. Backed by UATP and MasterCard
networks, the Amadeus AirPlus Travel Agency Card first will be made available
in the United Kingdom and Italy, and then Germany and Switzerland. Amadeus
previously was involved in payment processing through the Moneydirect joint
venture with Sabre that
shut down in 2011.
