American Airlines and Sabre on Monday extended the terms of their content agreement "well into 2012," pending the resolution of ongoing litigation,
according to a memo from AA vice president of global sales
Derek DeCross. The agreement "ensures continued access to American’s
content through the Sabre GDS" until 14 days after American's suit against
Sabre is resolved, DeCross noted. "No trial date has yet been set, but we
anticipate that the legal proceedings could last well into 2012," DeCross
noted. In a memo to clients, Sabre senior vice president Chris Kroeger noted
the extension "falls short of the long-term certainty that we know you
need and which we are committed to achieving."
