The U.S. General Services Administration Office of the Chief Financial Officer selected Citibank for purchase and travel card services

as part of the GSA's SmartPay 2 program. The 10-year contract has "a projected value of $1 billion" and covers 9,000 travel cardholders and 2,000 purchase cardholders. One of four vendors participating in SmartPay 2, Citibank also has been chosen to handle the huge U.S. Department of Defense travel card program.
