The U.S. Department of Commerce selected JPMorgan Chase for purchase, travel and fleet charge card services as part of the U.S. General Services Administration’s SmartPay 2 program
. Annual charge volume is expected to exceed $220 million on more than 23,000 MasterCard branded cards, according to the four-year contract. Six federal agencies and organization opted to "tag onto the DOC task order," the bank said. The U.S. Office of Personnel Management and the Smithsonian Institution plan to issue purchase, travel and fleet card program; Appalachian Regional Commission, Library of Congress and the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum plan to use purchase and travel cards; and the U.S. Social Security Administration plans to issue fleet cards under the contract. Under the new GSA SmartPay 2 master contract, JPMorgan Chase said it has been awarded the business of more than a dozen agencies that include the previously announced departments of the Interior and Transportation, as well as NASA.
