The Association of Corporate Travel Executives and the French Association of Travel Managers (AFTM) agreed to "a one-year, renewable strategic alliance."

According to the associations, ACTE will provide "global knowledge and resources" while AFTM contributes "insight into local markets." ACTE at its October conference in Paris will offer "a French track of education sessions, open to anyone who wishes to participate, but designed specifically for AFTM members." Created in 2008 as a non-profit organization and now claiming to be France's largest travel management association, AFTM, or L'Association Française des Travel Managers, opted not to join GBTA Europe, which led to that organization launching a new French networking group.
