Saudi Arabia national airline Saudia will begin the first nonstop service between Los Angeles and Riyadh on Friday.
The carrier will run the service only during August but plans to restart it later “to fulfill the needs of Saudi Arabian students and the diplomatic community, as well as business travelers who prefer to fly nonstop to the Saudi capital.” Saudia, a SkyTeam member, began service between Los Angeles and Jeddah in March 2014 and now flies the route five times a week. It also connects to New York, Toronto, and Washington, D.C., from Riyadh and/or Jeddah.
