Eurostar reported record annual sales and traveler volume for 2008

High-speed rail operator . Passenger count rose 10 percent to 9.1 million and ticket sales jumped 11 percent to £664 million (US$961 million). The record performance came despite a fire in the Channel Tunnel on 11 September 2008 which has since reduced services. Eurostar expects to resume its full timetable by "early spring."
