Avianca Brasil became Star Alliance's 28th member airline on Wednesday.
The carrier, which has a mostly domestic network, adds 15 destinations in Brazil, bringing the network's total there to 27. Colombian airline Avianca, which is owned by the same conglomerate as Avianca Brasil, joined Star Alliance in 2012.
