- Deep data analysis and automation
- Structural shifts in procurement that drive industry change
- Engaging alternative distribution or commercial models

Implementing meetings policies, programs and technologies that address inefficiencies
What to Include: Business Travel News editors will consider the effect of a nominee's activities in the industry over the last 18 months. Nominations should provide:
- Outstanding Practice/Influence – Outline the nominee's leading practices and/or industry influence
- Evidence – Reasons the practice is innovative or point to industry evolution
- Background – Detail steps nominee took to achieve results
- Character Statement – A statement regarding the nominee's vision, drive to innovate,
leadership qualities, team orientation, industry advocacy, etc.
JUDGING
- Nominations: BTN will accept nominations through June 30, 2026
- Process: BTN Editors review nominations
and vet finalists via interviews with nominees, managers, and industry executives
- Finals Selection: BTN Editorial Team selects Travel Manager of the Year and 2 to 4 "Best Practitioners"

Business Travel News will announce the 2026 Travel Manager
of the Year & Best Practitioners on August 5, 2026 at an invitation-only cocktail
reception in Chicago. A BTN special report will include a feature
article on the achievements and influence of the 2026 Travel Manager of the
Year.
