Three-quarters of 196 travel managers polled said they have not "implemented emergency cutbacks in past weeks as a direct result of the financial crisis
(in addition to those implemented by many corporations throughout 2008)," according to the Business Travel Coalition. Half said their companies were planning "additional strategic investments" next year in "substitute technologies" such as videoconferencing, but two-thirds of those respondents said the investments would be at normal levels compared with prior years.
