BCD Travel unveiled a service in which business trips are monitored to resolve simple disruptions like a delayed or canceled flight,
according to the company. Travelers must opt into the service, called Disruption Services. Participating travelers receive an email or text that a simple disruption has been resolved; for more complex disruptions that require additional cost, a BCD agent will call the traveler. BCD Travel conducted a seven-month pilot of the program with healthcare imaging and IT solution provider Carestream, identifying 1,200 flight disruptions and resolving 37 percent with alternate flights, according to BCD.
