Airlines Reporting Corporation reinstated miscellaneous fees for training and changes of bank accounts, ownership and locations for travel agencies and designated corporate travel departments, effective immediately
The in response to the Independent Arbitration Panel’s ruling that voided ARC’s planned 2008 fee increases. ARC said it would not “seek any retroactive fees for applications and other services provided since” January. Ruling on a fee appeal filed by the American Society of Travel Agents, Carlson Wagonlit Network Associates and Uniglobe Travel USA, the IAP found “ARC has not met its burden of proof to show that the new annual administrative fees ... represent a fair allocation of costs between carriers and agents.” ARC cancelled its July 24 collection of additional fees and said it would “recalculate the 2008 fee structure” and refund or adjust agency collections.
