ARC reported a 1 percent increase in total U.S. travel agency sales during April
, the lowest year-over-year growth rate for any month this year. Domestic airfare sales declined 6 percent to $3.1 billion while international fare sales increased 7 percent to $2.8 billion. ARC said its data "reveal a leveling of sales and transaction volumes after a record-setting close to the first quarter." Year-to-date sales through April exceeded 2006 sales by 5 percent.
