Startup Riyadh Air has ordered 25 Airbus A350-1000 widebody aircraft with options for 25 more, the carrier announced Monday at the Paris Air Show.
The aircraft "will facilitate the network's ultra long-haul destinations as it aims to serve over 100 destinations around the globe by 2030," according to the carrier.
The agreement brings Riyadh Air's fleet on order to up to 182. The carrier previously ordered Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners in 2023.
The new airline, which will be the national carrier for Saudi Arabia, recently received its air operator's certificate and plans to announce its first destinations "in the coming months" with its first flights projected by the end of the year.
In addition, on Tuesday Riyadh Air announced a partnership with ground transportation platform Blacklane to provide free chauffeur services to all international business elite, business-class and eligible loyalty guests. Applicable rides would be for service within a 50-kilometer radius from Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport. Blacklane will be integrated into Riyadh Air's booking platform, according to the carrier.
