Newly designed Air Canada cabins are scheduled to launch this summer on the carrier's Airbus A321XLR aircraft, the airline announced Tuesday. In addition, the new designs—dubbed Glowing Heart and including the new Air Canada Signature Plus Suite—also will launch on the Boeing 787-10 when it enters service.
Upgrades across all cabins on those two fleets include new ergonomic seats with built-in tablet holders and larger overhead bins, larger 4K OLED screen and Bluetooth audio, access to USB-C and AC power outlets at every seat, and Premium Economy cabins will feature new extended privacy wings.
The Airbus A321XLR will include 14 lie-flat Air Canada Signature Class seats, the first time they will be available on a single-aisle aircraft, according to the carrier. That aircraft's introduction also will "unlock new transatlantic routes and allow Air Canada to offer an upgraded, premium journey across more of its North America transcontinental network."
The four suites on the Boeing 787-10 will be at the front of the aircraft and include a larger bed than currently available, a quartzite-topped table and a dedicated guest seat, more space for personal items, and a higher wall for additional privacy, according to Air Canada.
Further, the carrier is upgrading interiors on other fleets. Air Canada's Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, currently operated by subsidiary Rouge, will move to the mainline fleet and be retrofitted to the carrier's latest design standard. The Boeing 737 Max aircraft will transition to Air Canada Rouge in 2026.
