Boeing this week has confirmed aircraft deals with three Asia-based airlines, the company announced.
Kazakhstan flag carrier Air Astana has finalized an order for up to 15 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, Boeing announced Feb. 17. It is Air Astana's largest single airline purchase, and the planes will be used on its long-haul routes.
Vietnam Airlines finalized an order for 50 Boeing 737 Max-8 planes, Boeing announced on Feb. 18. The additional aircraft will be used on the carrier's domestic and regional routes as "air travel demand continues to rise across Southeast Asia." It is Vietnam Airlines' first Boeing single-aisle order, according to Boeing.
New Vietnam-based luxury airline Sun PhuQuoc Airways has ordered up to 40 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft to be used for "destinations across Asia, Europe and North America," according to Boeing. The carrier received its air operators certificate on Sept. 25, 2025, and launched its first domestic flights on Nov. 1. International flights are scheduled to begin March 29 to Taipei, according to the carrier.
