The total consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold by U.S. travel agencies rose 8.4 percent year over year in January to $8.4 billion, according to Airlines Reporting Corp. The average U.S. round-trip ticket price decreased $15 from the previous month to $458 and dipped 2 percent year over year. The number of passenger trips settled by ARC rose 5.7 percent year over year.
