Carlson Wagonlit Travel North America chief operating officer Mike Koetting at the end of next week will leave the travel management company where he spent the past six years to join Concur as executive vice president of supplier management and advertising, the companies said today.
CWT said it now is working "to ensure the smooth transition" following Koetting's departure and plans to announce "a new leadership structure in the coming weeks."
CWT North America president Jack O'Neill in a statement today said, "I remain optimistic and excited about our future as we continue to work through our plans for 2010 and beyond. I have the utmost confidence that the CWT team's in-depth experience, diverse backgrounds, and passion for travel management will continue to deliver the great service and value clients demand and have come to expect from CWT."
Koetting joined CWT in 2004 as part of the travel management company's acquisition of Maritz Corporate Travel
(BTNonline March 18, 2004), holding several senior management positions in the ensuing years. "My time at CWT has been marked by tremendous change in the industry and accelerating growth for CWT," Koetting said in a statement. "It's been an honor to have been part of that success and I'm confident CWT will continue to grow and prosper."
Concur president and COO Rajeev Singh in a statement added, "It is a distinct pleasure to welcome Mike to the Concur team. Mike's deep travel industry experience, his understanding of the complex supplier relationships within the global travel supply chain and his demonstrated leadership in serving the unique needs of the corporate travel buyer make him a perfect fit for this new role at Concur. I look forward to working together with Mike and leveraging his considerable talents as we continue Concur's mission of helping our clients drive down costs."
