Third-quarter reserved occupancy in both the group and business transient segments is down from the same period last year,

according to the August TravelClick North American Hospitality Review. On the group side, reserved occupancy is down 0.5 percent, but average daily rate is up 2.5 percent. Transient business reserved occupancy is down 1.4 percent, but ADR is up 4.9 percent. Overall reserved occupancy is up 0.6 percent for the quarter. The August NAHR looks at group sales commitments and individual reservations in 25 major North American markets booked by August 5, 2015, for hotel stays from August 2015 to July 2016.
