Hotel reshopping provider Tripbam has enhanced its Hotel Intelligence solution's benchmarking and analytics capabilities. The update allows travel managers, in real time, to grade hotel, brand and chain performance on true discounts received and last room availability. "We've worked closely with many of our most tenured clients, collecting their feedback and input over a period of about six months, to make this release possible," said Tripbam founder and CEO Steve Reynolds.
Travel managers now can measure preferred hotels across two metrics: discount percent and rate compared to benchmark. They also can see, by city, how adjustments in the percentage discount in a given city would affect sourcing and share shift. "Discounts vary greatly by the type of deal, city, size of company and more," Reynolds said. And travel managers can compare the change in lowest qualified rate—the benchmark rate the traveler would have paid if a negotiated discount was not available—from one period to another, as well as the change in rates booked from one period to another.
The tool, which previously graded hotels based upon the discount percentage only, now grades hotels by the discount percentage, last room availability performance, the rate benchmarked against similar Tripbam clients, and the travel program's individual volume by property. The more volume the client can provide, the greater the discount expected. And the tool shows travel managers what other companies of similar size are getting from a hotel in regard to a property-level discount and performance.
Hotel Intelligence now also features a simplified user interface, improved formulas for better estimated savings opportunities and more reports available for download.
