Qatar Airways Group chief executive Akbar Al Baker is stepping down after 27 years in the position, the carrier announced Monday. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer will replace him, effective Nov. 5, according to Qatar Airways. Al-Meer since 2014 has been chief operating officer of Doha's Hamad International Airport, which is under the management and operation of Qatar Airways Group.
