American Airlines VP of sales and distribution strategy Cory Garner will leave his position with the carrier at the end of the year, Garner said in a LinkedIn post on Tuesday. Garner, who has worked for American for two decades, was a pioneer in the carrier's direct connect strategy and more recently was a chief driver of American's strategy regarding the International Air Transport Association's New Distribution Capability standard, including an incentive program for adoption that American announced last year. American has not named a replacement.
