Avis Budget Group has appointed Joseph Ferraro as president and CEO on a permanent basis. Ferraro had served in the role on an interim basis since the departure of CEO Larry De Shon at the end of last year. Ferraro has been with Avis since 1979 and, prior to taking the role of president and CEO, had served as its president of the Americas region since January 2015. The group also named current board chair and former Kraft Heinz Co. CEO Bernardo Hees as executive chairman, a role in which he will "work closely with the CEO and the rest of the management team," according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
