Alaska Airlines has promoted Shane Tackett to EVP of planning and strategy, a position in which he is tasked with "refining and optimizing" the carrier's route network now that its merger with Virgin America is complete. Tackett has worked for Alaska since 2000 and most recently was SVP of revenue and e-commerce. Alaska also is integrating its commercial and frontline divisions under president and COO Ben Minicucci.
