Alaska Airlines' 91.2 percent on-time
arrival rate ranked it as May's most punctual North American airline, according
to FlightStats. North American carriers on average got 83.6 percent of flights
to their gates within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival times. Among the 12
largest carriers, WestJet (89.7 percent) and Delta Air Lines (87.9 percent)
also had above-average on-time rates. United Airlines (83. 1 percent), Air
Canada (83.1 percent), Southwest Airlines (82.1 percent), JetBlue Airways (81.4
percent), American Airlines (81.1 percent), Frontier Airlines (80.1 percent),
Virgin America (77.6 percent), Spirit Airlines (77.1 percent) and Allegiant Air
(70.1 percent) had on-time rates below the monthly average.
