Air France-KLM Group's total revenues increased 0.5 percent
year over year to 6.5 billion euro in the third quarter. Traffic was up 1.8
percent, and capacity increased 1.6 percent; load factor increased 0.2
percentage points to 89.8 percent. Unit revenue was down 1.8 percent on
transatlantic routes due to "an environment of lower booking volumes and
high competitive pressure," although U.S. point-of-sale is still strong on
the routes, according to the group. Unit revenue also was down on routes to
Asia because of weak traffic to China and Hong Kong. Air France-KLM reported a
net income of 366 million euros for quarter, a decline of 420 million euros
from the third quarter of 2018. Fuel expenses were up 135 million euros year
over year in the quarter.
