TRX Launches Proxi, Targets Midmarket
New York - TRX Inc. today announced at BTN's Corporate Travel World conference the launch of TRX Proxi, a new suite of booking, ticketing and reporting services for middle market agencies and Airlines Reporting Corp.-certified Corporate Travel departments.
"This is the first time TRX has offered a truly end-to-end electronic booking fulfillment and reporting service to agencies and CTDs," said Steve Reynolds, executive vice president and general manager of Atlanta, Ga.-based TRX.
TRX Proxi features online booking, quality control and reservation finishing, ticket and ARC settlement and Web-enabled reporting, Reynolds said.
TRX Proxi will be made available to clients for as little as $6 per transaction, he said. "Since the mega agencies charge in the neighborhood of $25 per transaction, we feel that the $6 price tag on Proxi makes it a very attractive offering."
TRX Proxi is especially well-suited for the middle market, Reynolds said. "As the result of the commission cut, there is real pressure on midmarket agencies and buyers to lower the costs of their operations," he said. "One buyer I spoke to was paying $45 per transaction to her agency, which was a midsize operation. That seems high. With Proxi, these transactions can be handled for a fraction of the price."
