Palm Beach Airport Adds Valet Parking
Raising ground service to new heights, Palm Beach International Airport is adding valet parking for passengers this month. The new plan by the airport administration is meant to solve a problem created by the confused traveler.
According to airport director Bruce Pelly, hurried travelers simply drive up to the curb at the departing flights area, jump out of their car and leave it. Invariably, the car is towed away and the traveler is looking at a fine and storage fee that rivals the cost of his airline ticket.
Travelers now can legally leave their cars at curbside, where an attendant will park them. The service will cost $15 a day, plus tip.
Broward County, immediately south of Palm Beach County, also is considering valet parking for Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
