Geac this year is bulking up its expense reporting offering—formerly Extensity—with a new delivery model and increased integration with other Geac software applications, the company said during an investor conference call this month.
According to BTN's 2003 Travel Automation Directory
(BTN, Sept. 22, 2003), 88 percent of Geac Expense Reports customers opted for a license solution. Yet, the company is moving in the direction of the expense market in general by expanding its hosted offering.
Geac CIO Tim Wright said hosted solutions are "increasingly popular because they enable customers to realize significant ROI with a minimal impact on their own IT environment."
One of Geac's largest customer signings last quarter was for its hosted Expense Reports product with "a marquis sportswear manufacturer," the company said.
Geac this year will launch its "thin client solution" for its expense reporting tool to "add additional momentum" to its hosted solution.
"We're now into final development of our thin client solution for Geac Expense Reports, which we believe will open an even broader market for us," Wright said. "Thin client means any Web-enabled device becomes a viable workstation from which authorized users can submit and approve expense reports."
Meanwhile, Geac this year will "extend the Geac Performance Management family" with a Sarbanes-Oxley compliance tool.
This is Geac's latest move in finding synergy among its various applications through the Performance Management suite, which ties T&E expense management with such other business processes as budgeting
(BTN, Nov. 10, 2003).
