Bank of America Offers Small Biz Card With AWA
America West Airlines and Bank of America today announced the launch of a new co-branded credit card designed to offer mileage-related benefits to businesses with fewer than 100 employees and up to $10 million in sales.
The FlightFund Visa Business cards come with two mileage-earning options, including the traditional scenario in which each individual earns miles from his or her own travel and a company mileage option in which all miles earned by cardholders are accumulated into a single account. The designated company "mileage earner," typically the owner, then can redeem miles for business or individual travel.
Bank of America has similar, but not identical, relationships with Alaska Airlines and US Airways that commenced in the fall, officials said. Part of the America West arrangement is to automatically enroll business owners in the carrier's Corporate AWArds program, which earns companies a 5 percent discount on tickets. A dining program and a miles-based signing bonus also are part of the offer.
