American Airlines this week introduced self-service checkin at New York JFK Airport. Passengers with electronic tickets now can check in, select a seat and obtain a boarding pass with a major credit card or an AAdvantage card at the airline's kiosks.
Delta Connection carrier SkyWest Airlines on Oct. 1 will begin new nonstop regional jet service between Salt Lake City and El Paso, Texas, and Oakland, Calif.
The airline on Nov. 1 will add nonstops between Salt Lake City and Burbank and Monterey, Calif.
Virgin Atlantic on Oct. 1 will begin a codeshare agreement with Singapore Airlines on its three daily London-Singapore flights.
The two carriers also announced expanded benefits for elite level frequent flyers that include enhanced reward mileage, checkin counters and airport lounges.
