The U.S. hotel industry recorded year-over-year increases in both occupancy and average daily rate in June, according to STR. "The industry's 117 million room nights sold were the most we have ever recorded for a June," adding that the month saw 2018's greatest year-over-year gains in demand and occupancy. Occupancy rose 1.7 percent to 74.5 percent, and ADR increased 2.8 percent to $132.66. Among the 25 markets with the most room supply, Orlando posted the largest increases in both occupancy, up 6.1 percent to 83.3 percent, and ADR, up 10.2 percent to $127.86. New Orleans recorded the top 25's only ADR decline, down 6.7 percent to $134.44, and Seattle saw the greatest drop in occupancy, down 2 percent to 86 percent.
