Average U.S. daily hotel rates in April increased by 2.8 percent year over year

, according to hospitality research firm STR, and occupancy in April was up 4.8 percent to 61.2 percent compared with the previous year. Miami had the highest April ADR increase, up 13.1 percent year over year, and occupancy was up by at least 10 percent in several markets, including Nashville, Norfolk-Virginia Beach, Orlando and Minneapolis.
