Travel and entertainment charge volumes rose 10 percent
during the third quarter for American Express, which also reported 13 percent higher travel commissions and fees, "reflecting a 16 percent increase in worldwide travel sales." Amex reported third-quarter "income from continuing operations of $1.1 billion, up 15 percent from $934 million a year ago."
