American Express Business Travel said clients this spring would begin to pilot a new Small Meetings eXpert marketplace that enables corporations to book meetings for fewer than 50 attendees online in real time

. A private label of Worktopia's Universal Meeting Solution, the Web-based technology allows organizers to shop, book and contract meeting space, sleeping rooms, catering and audio visual equipment. The Amex version of the tool also is to provide users with the ability to "hold" space as they seek approvals and access the Amex hotel and meeting supplier network pre-negotiated rates and packages.
