Sabre appointed Ricardo Carreón to the new role of vice
president of Sabre Travel Network in Latin America and Caribbean.
Sabre also announced plans for a new regional headquarters
in Montevideo, Uruguay, that will be "fully established in early
2017" and expands on Sabre’s global customer service center there. "The
global facility will unify and standardize Sabre’s support and software
implementation consulting in the region," according to Sabre. "Other
strategic areas that will be located in the new office include account
management, supplier commerce, global accounts, finance and marketing."
Sabre also operates regional offices in Mexico City; São
Paulo; Bogota, Colombia; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Lima, Peru; and Santiago,
Chile.
Based at the new regional headquarters, Carreón joins Sabre
from NCR Corp., where he was general manager of the Caribbean and Latin
America. He reports to Jay Jones, Sabre Travel Network senior vice president of
the Americas.
Sabre previously divided Latin America leadership into two
vice president positions, one overseeing sales and services in northern
territories and another in southern territories, according to a spokesman.
Those vice presidents, Julia De Jesús and Luiz Ambar, remain
with Sabre and "will continue to lead strategic projects, business
development, and provide industry expertise to the regional organizational
structure," Sabre noted.
A Sabre spokesman said the establishment of a
regional headquarters and appointment of a regional vice president in Latin
America aligns with Sabre's operations in the Asia/Pacific and Europe, Middle
East and Africa regions.
