Technology giant Microsoft in 2025 significantly increased its U.S.-booked air volume to $205 million. At the same time, the company restructured the global travel team, moving away from a procurement reporting structure and shifting it under financial operations.
About 85 percent of Microsoft’s U.S.-booked travel was made through preferred booking tools.
Microsoft brought the Cytric Easy AI Assistant to the forefront of its program ecosystem this year. With a renewed five-year contract with Amex GBT and Amadeus Cytric, Microsoft added their Cytric Easy AI Assistant to the Teams ecosystem, allowing corporate travelers to search, compare and book flights, hotels, and car rentals directly through Teams, while enabling them to share booking information through the platform. This development is the beginning of a larger global strategic partnership between Amadeus and Microsoft.
For 2026, Microsoft aims to drive procurement value, most of which will rely heavily on AI. The company plans to use AI tools to drive business process optimization savings, reduce lead times and reshape business processes. Cytric Easy AI Assistant features a new conversational agent allowing corporate travelers to manage bookings according to their own preferences and employer policies.
