BTN estimates that global shipping and logistics company FedEx spent $172 million on U.S.-booked air in 2025 as the company's business travel volumes continued to rise.
In its most recent sustainability report, FedEx reported that in the 2025 fiscal year—the 12 months ending on May 31, 2025—its carbon emissions related to business travel totaled about 195,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, an increase of 11 percent from the previous fiscal year. Business travel represents less than 1 percent of FedEx's full carbon footprint.

As of June 1, 2026, the company completed a spinoff of its FedEx Freight business, which comprises its less-than-truckload freight transportation services businesses, into a separate public company. As a separate company, FedEx Freight reported $8.8 billion in revenue for the 2026 fiscal year.
FedEx reported about 452,000 employees as of May 31, 2026, up from about 440,000 employees reported at the end of the previous fiscal year. About 233,000 of those employees were permanent full-time positions.
