BTN estimates that Apple Inc. spent $240 million on U.S.-booked air volume for business travel in 2025, up from the $228 million estimated in 2024.
The company reported fiscal year 2025 Scope 3 carbon emissions related to business travel of 201,700 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent. That represents about 40 percent of total Scope 3 emissions, which makes up the majority of Apple’s carbon footprint. That is down from 2024’s 284,500 metric tons of CO2e for business travel, which represented about 46 percent of Scope 3.
Apple’s 2026 Environmental Progress Report notes that air travel emissions are among the most difficult to reduce. Therefore, the company has turned to mitigation via offsetting strategies and carbon removal initiatives that “adhere to rigorous international standards,” according to the report. The company said it often originates its own projects working with Conservation International.
Apple reported a total fiscal year 2025 revenue of $416.16 billion, representing a 6.4 percent increase compared to the previous year, As of Sept. 27, 2025, the company had 166,000 full-time employees, up about 2,000 from the prior year.
